Clark's game

It doesn't have any other name, but Clark has got the boys playing a new game he devised.
I don't understand the rules- believe me there are rules.  It has something to do with elements and enchantments and making your own weapons.  Mostly it just seems to be a lot of running around and occasionally falling down.

TaekWanda

Clark and Spencer have recently started to practice Taekwondo.  I guess Laurel has been taking notes.  Tonight she got her hands on an old bath robe and created her alter ego: TaekWanda.

Home made guitars

I have a new hobby.

Cigar box guitars.  You just need an old box, a piece of wood and some bits and parts to make a great sounding instrument.

The brick house was my first guitar, it is a fretless 3 string guitar (GDG).  I finished this one about a month ago.
I just finished the Romeo and Juliette guitar this weekend.  This one is fretted and again 3 strings.  I originally had it tuned to GBE like a regular guitar but the neck looked like it was bowing a bit so I tuned it down to FAD and it plays great, and I still play it just like a regular guitar.

Here is a rough video of me playing the Brick House guitar.  This song is my version of Book of Mormon Stories.

This is a song that we sang in church when I was a kid.

Book of Mormon stories that my teacher tells to me...

Here is a link to the real song if you were wondering.

enjoy!

Florida

We took our family vacation to Florida this summer and visited my parents

We took an amazing air boat ride on Lake Panasoffkey

Everyone had a blast

Some just couldn't stop smiling

Laurel did very well piloting an air boat for her first time.

We spent a lot of time hanging around with Grandad and Grandma

Riding around in the golf carts

Shuffleboard

Playing cards

Lots and lots of swimming
Turtle spotting down at the lake
We made a trip to Orlando and SeaWorld

Grant is really into turtles
He really, really likes turtles

Laurel is a brave little rider
We made a stop at the beach on Jekyll Island on our way home.

It was a perfect "day at the beach"

Sand castle building
We also explored along the beach and found this amazing area known as "driftwood beach"

Also a lot of shells

Growing a garden

That's an asparagus the size of a kid!
We've had an abundance of cucumbers this year.  Every day I pick an armful of cukes.  We already have a year's supply of pickles and they just keep coming.

We have a seemingly limitless supply of tomatoes and it is just the beginning of July.  We are also growing peppers, peas, beans corn and sunflowers this year.
