Official Snow Day

We got snowed in last night, and Scott actually gets to stay home this time. Stephanie is here too. She barely made it out of Asheville and stopped over here for a couple of nights.

A little neuro-ophthalmology

Scott's been working on a new technique to evaluate pupils.

This is Scott's eye under normal light. You can see that in some people with dark eyes, the pupil can be challenging to see really well.

See how it looks using a little UV light. Freaky- I guess, but much easier to view the pupil.

Swinging Bridge Tree Farm

We went out toward Boone and visited the Swinging Bridge Tree Farm.

Jen found the tree and Scott cut it down.

Now we're ready for Christmas.

In the name of Science

Clark loves doing science projects. Jen found a good experiment book, and we've been launching, smashing and exploding.
Here Clark is trying out the Fettucine Bridge before we smash it with a load of books. (It wasn't even stable enough to support it's own weight, but with a little extra tape we supported 7 books before the bridge cracked.)

Stone Mountain

We went to Stone Mountain, NC and climbed up to the top of Wolf Rock. We've done that hike before, but it was definitely worth going back.

The view was phenomenal!

Hillbilly champions

Our ward had a Hillbilly Hoedown tonight. The Haines family won the prize for the best Hillbilly costumes. Personally, I think it was all Spencer that won it for us.
