Clark and Dad trip to L.A.

Clark has graduated high school and before he moves away I wanted to take a special trip just with him. He wanted to visit L.A.

We went to Phillipe's for the original French dip sandwich.

Our main attraction was the Petersen Automotive Museum. This was on the bucket list for both of us.

They have a collection of classic cars, movie cars, other interesting cars and super cars like this McLaren.

Ecto 1

The time machine DeLorean

Clark is a big fan of the Dodge Viper

We agreed the vault was the best part of the museum. They don't have all the museum display stuff. Just an amazing collection of cars that you can wander around and look at.

The Pope-mobile

On the way to California, Clark and I binge watched the entire 2nd season of Rust to Riches, which ends with this XNR at the Peterson.

Such a classy car. This beautiful Rolls was my favorite car in the museum.

Great lunch

We explored some other LA sights, such as the LACMA

We got to see the tar pits

We took in a 3D movie at the tar pit museum

They have found a lot of fossils there. This display is an entire wall of wolf skulls. It'd take a wide angle shot to show all of them.

We went to the farmer's market and had dinner and some fantastic Italian ices. This was one of those perfect moments that you want to hang on to forever.

We had a busy trip, but we found some downtime to just hang out and enjoy the California weather. We got to enjoy each other's company and connect. This was really what the trip was about, after all.
