The rest of the costume was just some black clothes, a black bedsheet, artfully tied* and a few props for each character.
A sword for war. A scythe for death. The plague doctor look with mask and lantern seemed like a good choice for pestilence. We made the balance or scales for famine entirely out of stuff I had laying around: an old handle, a bit of chain and some paper plates painted to look cool.
*to tie the cape simply drape the bedsheet over your head to make the hood. Then, grab the two corners in front of you and cross them at the neck and tie it behind your head. If the cape is too long you can fold it shorter before draping it over your head.
